IT Operations Engineer

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
NGA's Directorate of Expeditionary Operations (DOE) seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic IT Operations Engineer with a wide range of technical education and experience to serve in the Expeditionary Support Technology Branch (DOEST). An IT Operations Engineer with NGA, ensures NGA services will integrate, deploy, and operate systems within the command and component external architecture. This includes coordinating with NGA services to enable access on Multiple networks and domains. Also managing limited resources and streamlining processes to enable GEOINT capabilities at a dynamic and high tempo environment. The IT Operations Engineer must provide in-depth and unique knowledge of GEOINT architecture(s) and supporting infrastructure and possess a strong skill set in areas of critical thinking, multi-tasking and working independently as well as with a team as well as an in-depth technical knowledge of industry standard servers, desktop software and hardware to field complex GEOINT workstation and server systems; deployed. The IT Operations Engineer must participate in short and long term CONUS and OCONUS deployments to install, configure, and maintain desktop and server systems, desktop NAS units, printer/plotters, VOIPS, local area networks, as well as tactical SATCOM and terrestrial communications systems. Must meet CONUS short term and world-wide long term deployment requirements (including medical evaluation) and must be able to deploy worldwide for at least 120 days per year to support operations in crisis areas. Be available to participate in short notice TDYs to include the following:
CONUS Crisis support, site surveys, equipment installs, equipment recaps, and troubleshooting/resolving equipment issues. Must be willing and able to complete requirements for a state issued Commercial Driver's License within 90 days of filling the position. Additional Application Requirement:

For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). 1. Demonstrated experience analyzing and identifying potential opportunities for IT process improvement and followed through with the implementation of those improvements 2. Intermediate to Advanced level TCP/IP based Local Area Network Configuration and Administration experience 3. Intermediate to Advanced level Windows and Linux System Administration experience with minimum EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A. Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Technology Management, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. -OR- B. Combination of Education and
Experience:
A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in IT operations, system engineering, system testing and evaluation, IT project management, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C.
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in IT operations, system engineering, system testing and evaluation, IT project management, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
DAWIA certification may be required for this position; see Position License and Certification Requirements below for additional details. New Acquisition Workforce members or current members transitioning to a new acquisition career field or higher skill level have 24 months to achieve certification. -AND- Relevant Competencies:
IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:
1. Experience with Satellite Communications desire 1-2 years of experience and Host and Network based security solutions 2. Scripting of system administration tasks using Powershell/BASH or similar 3. Data manipulation and visualization with Python and or Microsoft Excel 4. Knowledge of current standards and trends in desktop and server hardware to include network attached storage 5. Ability to research technical solutions to generalized IT requirements for both desktop and service based requirements 6. Active TS/SCI security Clearance 7. DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 Security certification such as Security

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
