DutiesAs a IT Spec (INFOSEC) GS 2210 13/14, your typical work assignments may include:
Managing and operating the Communications Security (COMSEC) key management and distribution systems responsible for distributing COMSEC material to component COMSEC Accounts.
Leading major operating system projects, to include the installation of new operating environments.
Managing network systems as well as initiatives in analyzing and resolving software challenges.
Serving as a technical authority providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues.

QualificationsBasic Requirements:
For all positions in the 2210 Occupational Series individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

In addition to the basic requirement above individuals must also meet the outlined specialized experience requirement listed below to be considered eligible for this position.
Specialized
Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary $103,690) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-XX grade level performing duties such as:
1.
Managing, disseminating and destruction of Communications Security (COMSEC) materials, performing audits, evaluating and deployment of IT Security Tools and procedures, 2.
Monitoring the IT COMSEC systems' compliance with IT security requirements, and 3.
Providing advice and guidance in implementing COMSEC device solutions, IT security policies, and procedures in the development and operation of classified network systems and 4.
Properly preserving and protecting of evidence used in investigating COMSEC incidents, and computer crimes.
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level (starting salary $122,530) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-XX grade level performing duties such as:
1.
Applying systems administration and systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods for a wide variety of Incident Response, Binary Analysis, and Forensic Tool Suites; 2.
Applying advanced Communications Security (COMSEC) network and system technologies, evaluating COMSEC incidents, 3.
Performing COMSEC Key Controlling Authority duties as well as overseeing Communications Security Operations and Cyber Threat Intelligence, and 4.
Performing cyber intrusion forensics and protecting a network against malware.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
